Dr. Gross earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama in 1977 and his Doctorate in Optometry in 1981. He is licensed in Alabama and holds a membership in the Alabama Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr. Gross has more than 35 years of experience in the optometry field, and he specializes in specialty contact lenses, myopia control, Ortho-K, and scleral lenses.

“I consider each person who chooses to come to me for their eye care as not only my patient but also my partner,” said Dr. Gross. “I also believe that every patient plays an important role in the successful treatment of vision problems. We work together to address their vision concerns and get them on the road to seeing the world more clearly.”

An Atmore, Alabama native, Dr. Helton earned his associate’s degree in science from Jefferson Davis Community College in 1998 before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry from the University of Alabama in 2000. He then pursued optometry studies at the University of Alabama, earning his doctorate in 2004. Dr. Helton is licensed in Alabama and is a member of both the Alabama Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He specializes in medical eye care—glaucoma and dry eyes.

“Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the beauty of the world through the sense of sight,” said Dr. Helton. “My hope is that more people realize there is help available. With so many treatment options available today, I am committed to helping each patient find the treatment that is best for them.”

Sometimes our eyes don’t work together properly. Erin works to correct these imbalances through vision therapy. She’ll take patients through a series of tailored exercises that work to correct issues such as eye turns, eye coordination problems, or even reaction time towards certain stimuli.

You’re in good hands with Tyanna during the pre-testing portion of your eye exam. She’ll perform your initial vision check, color vision test, and more. Her years of experience as a Technician have trained her to spot early signs and symptoms of disease or other vision problems. She’s also known as our office’s very own Wonder Woman because of her ability to make patients and staff feel comfortable and valued.

Bonnie knows frames, lenses, and “perfect fits” having worked in optical for 14 years. Whether you need to find that next pair of frames to make everyone say “Wow!” or track down your recent glasses order, Bonnie is on it. When not on the optical floor, she loves being at the beach, taking photos, and painting.

Terri comes to Perspective with over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and medical practice management. Having worked in both family practice and optical centers, Terri loves what she does because she is able to help people each day. When not at Perspective, you can find her with her grandchildren (proud grandmother of 11!), camping in an RV, or spending time with her husband of 23 years.

Anne is a whiz with anything insurance (and fine print) related. Deductible? Co-pay? Out-of-Pocket cost? She’ll find out faster than Google. Anne is an invaluable asset to our team and will help make sure all of your billing and insurance questions are thoroughly answered.

Maggie comes to us with 3 years experience in Optometry. She can check you in for your appointment, do your initial work up for the Dr to come finish your exam. Maggie is currently enrolled in college in preparation for Optometry School.
